The Detention Optimization Module lets trucking companies see instantly where their trailers are located, how long those trailers have been detained at specific locations, whether the trailers are empty or loaded, which customer locations have exceeded their detention grace periods, as well as daily views of billable detention hours. The module also allows trucking companies to receive alerts when a customer location exceeds its grace period, as well as share these alerts with customers. www.fleetlocate.com ▲ Vusion's new MPG Analytics Dashboard collects information from sources such as the electronic control module and GPS system, dispatch and fuel purchases. This data is combined with vehicle-specific information and fuel purchases to produce an integrated picture of mpg performance. www.peoplenetonline.com/vusion-analytics ▲ Omnitracs now offers tire pressure monitoring, trailer tire inflation alerts and fuel applications on its MPC 50 line of in-cab devices. www.omnitracs.com ▲ Ryder System formed a partnership with Decisiv, combining Decisiv's service relationship management technology with Ryder's Managed Maintenance Solutions. This helps fleet managers manage multiple maintenance providers and gives better visibility into the total cost of maintaining a large national fleet. www.decisiv.com www.ryder.com ▲ Tom Heine, CEO of Aljex Software, launched a new company, Inspection Data Systems, to develop cloud-based equipment inspection solutions for smartphones and tab- lets. "We chose TL/CIS over other options because this system gives us a fully costed and highly detailed database of our ship- ments that allows us to create reports in a format we want," says Scott Webb, an executive at the New Mexico-based fleet. "One of the first things we did with the TCG solution was to analyze the spot quotes we are providing our customers. Our planners used the TCG data to pick the three least profitable spot quoted lanes in their areas and renegotiated a change in rates. That one exercise not only paid for the TL/CIS system but also made a very substantial difference to our bottom line." Heyl Truck Lines chooses Blue Tree Systems H eyl Truck Lines, an Iowa-based temperature-controlled and dry freight carrier is implementing Blue Tree Systems' R:Com reefer temperature management system on its 775 refrigerated trailers. The system integrates with Heyl's enterprise management software from Innovative Computing Corp., and provides detailed cargo temperature and refrigeration unit operating histories as well as live updates of refrigeration unit settings, operating mode, equipment alarm codes, and fuel level and cargo temperatures.
