The space- saver battery boxes store Odyssey absorbed glass mat batteries and can be mounted in two positions: on the right-hand of the back of the cab or on the left-hand side on the back of the sleeper. The space-saver box is made of lightweight aluminum and is available with either an aluminum or composite cover. The SmartAir system is a no-idle cooling system which Peterbilt says can save in annual fuel costs, comply with anti-idle regulations and reduce a truck's carbon footprint. It has a 7,500 Btu/ hour cooling capacity and can operate for up to 10 hours on a single charge. The Smart- Air has a split-system design, which means the brushless condenser fan is remotely located in a low, central posi- tion outside the cab for optimum performance and maximum under-bunk storage capacity. The new feature, called Logbook, allows fleet-based businesses to remove the manual step from hours of service processing. Logbook will help businesses remain compliant with FMCSA regulations in an easy to learn manner, according to the company. Logbook tracks hours of service through vehicle informa- tion coming from the engine and communicating with the Fleetmatics driver log mobile application. This allows managers to track the hours of service for any driver in real time, even when drivers are away from the vehicle. Circle 353 on Reader Action Card or go to www.hdt.hotresponse.com
