"Debbie" Freund , 57, died August 28. She was a senior transportation specialist at the FMCSA for nearly 15 years, and at the time of her death was National Technical Expert for Vehicle Research. Noted y Meritor has sold its Mascot operations in Canada and the United States to an entity that will operate under the name Mascot Industries LLC. All other Meritor brake and trailer axle remanufactur- ing operations, as well as Meritor's distribution business, are not affected by the sale and will continue to operate as usual. y ZF Friedrichshafen agreed to acquire TRW Automotive. The move will result in pro forma combined sales of about $41 billion and 138,000 employees worldwide. ZF will more than double its sales in China and the U.S. y FTR and Internet Truckstop announced a new strategic partnership to bring FTR's analysis and forecasting skills to bear on the "big data" collected by the freight-matching technology provider. y Ford added a second shift at its Kansas City Assembly Plant to meet the demand for its 2015 Transit full-size van. y Cummins was honored as Frost & Sullivan's overall best heavy-duty truck engine supplier after On the Move Longtime Paccar veteran Andy Douglas is joining Agility Fuel Systems as senior vice president of sales, marketing and customer service. During more than 30 years in the transportation industry, Douglas has held executive positions with Paccar and its divisions, including Kenworth, Paccar Financial and PacLease. Consolidated Metco promoted Matt Wasem to the director of aftermarket sales.
