Kenworth T he new T680 with a large cab and many other advances is Kenworth's flagship highway tractor. Like all T models, it has a setback steer axle. Narrow-cab T660 (successor to the original T600 "anteater" of 1985) and wide-cab T700 (the latterday T2000), remain in the lineup, as does the traditional W900 with its forward-set steer axle.The T880 truck, which shares the new large cab with the T680, is being heavily advertised as the vocational segment revives. The W900S with a set-forward steer axle sells to operators in bridge formula states. Most are standard with Mack T he Pinnacle with setback steer axle is Mack's primary highway tractor, and the builder is reviving Paccar's 12.9-liter MX-13 diesel. Cummins ISX11.9 and ISX15 diesels are optional.T440 and T470 trucks serve the lighter end of Class 8, and use the Cummins-supplied medium-heavy PX-7 and PX-9 diesel (Paccar-branded Cummins ISB and ISL, respectively). Cummins Westport ISL G and Westport Innovations 15G (called GX by Paccar, but about to be dropped by Westport) are available in certain models.The biggest and heaviest KWs are the its efforts to capture sleeper-cab sales to freight haulers. Pinnacle axle-forward version includes the highly trimmed Rawhide model. Both come with 11- and 13-liter MP (Mack Power) diesels from Volvo Powertrain.The Econodyne Plus package uses low-revving MP engines with mDrive, Mack's adaptation of Volvo's I-Shift automated transmission.Titan with 16-liter MP engine is the top-of-the-line conventional-cab model. Granite, also with MP diesels, remains Mack's main vocational truck, selective catalytic reduction equipment. Navistar recently reinstated Cummins as an alternative, so heavy-duty Internationals now can be had with the ISX15 that has replaced the now-dropped MaxxForce 15. The ISX15 is the only engine in two International heavy models. Daimler Trucks' Freightliner and Western Star divisions are standard on Detroit Diesels, but many models are available with Cummins ISX11.9 and ISX15 power. Granite and on-road Pinnacle models will soon be available with the Cummins Westport ISX12 G.
